[BCMA] Preservation of Historical Highway Road Sign Request - Located in West Vancouver

My name is Keegan,

*I am looking for support in preserving a 50 year-old overhead road guide
sign (3 m x 3 m)** in West Vancouver, located at Highway 1 & Taylor Way*

*The sign is deteriorating and has definite historical value due to its age
and survival up to this point.  (A photo of the sign from a week ago is
attached) *

**No measurements of the sign have been taken. This has to be the maximum
size of it, but it is likely smaller.*

*As I do not have space, I am seeking interested parties to take it on.
This could also involve moving the sign and any complications that might
entail. *

*The sign is located on the south side of the Taylor Way overpass(es) at
exit 13 Taylor Way. *

This sign was installed in late 1975 or sometime in 1976 as part of the
final piece in widening of the Upper Levels Highway through West Vancouver.
Whilst it is quite simple as far as guide signs go, it has managed to
outlast most signs of its era, including those installed along the Upper
Levels.

The telltale indicator of the sign's age is the typeface present in the
sign. This typeface is an boldface uppercase road sign font, exclusively
used in B.C.
Given that the Taylor Way sign is one of if not the only guide signs in the
Lower Mainland with that specific typeface, it has immense value.
There are other smaller signs with the same typeface still existing,
however they are nowhere near as big.

If you or your organization is interested in helping  preserve and/or
housing the sign, please contact me.
Should you know any other interested parties who could assist in
preservation and housing, please tell them! Any support is appreciated.

Time is running out for this sign. I have sent an email to the Ministry of
Transportation & Transit but have not heard back. That means I have had no
assurances of it being safeguarded (yet).

It is unique, and deserves preservation.
