[BCMA] invitation - (free) SAGE Field Trip to Ocean Legacy on Sept 24

Hello BCMA members,

The Sustainable Arts and Green Ecosystems (SAGE), is organizing a field trip on Thursday, September 24 (1:30 to 3:30 pm), to Ocean Legacy, a Canadian non-profit dedicated to harvesting ocean plastic for reuse and transformation. The tour will discuss their work and encourage conversations about how museums can make use of Ocean Legacy's products and engage with their EPIC program: Education, Policy, Infrastructure, and Cleanup.

The Museum of Vancouver is coordinating SAGE's field trips, and would like to extend the invitation to museum professionals/BCMA members - we have 6 spots left!

SAGE is a cross-sectoral research and design initiative led by the Museum of Vancouver, bringing together local museum and theatre professionals, designers, students, material innovators, and sustainability researchers to advance low-waste, low-carbon approaches to museum and theatre productions.

Join SAGE's next field trip to Ocean Legacy Foundation<https://oceanlegacy.ca> in Steveston (3300 Chatham St, Richmond -suite #61), a Canadian non-profit ending ocean plastic pollution through its EPIC program: Education, Policy, Infrastructure, and Cleanup. Co-founders will share the organization's mission and its work transforming recovered marine plastic into circular-economy solutions from cleanup expeditions and recycling depots to Legacy Plastic products and lab testing. We'll explore how museum professionals can collaborate with and make use of Ocean Legacy's products & services.
