The successful applicant will be responsible for an ongoing 
campaign to protect the marine environment from the 
threats of open net cage Salmon farms in Clayoquot Sound. 
He/she will work within a large group of ENGOs on a 
well-developed campaign. The focus will be on public 
education, government and industry tracking, First Nations 
liaising, community mobilization and raising the profile 
of Clayoquot Sound regionally and internationally.

Qualifications

* Excellent communication skills (written, oral)
* Proven media skills (interviews, press releases 
and presentations)
* Proven campaign development and strategic 
planning skills
* Knowledge of federal and provincial aquaculture 
and fisheries political landscapes
* Strong negotiating skills an asset
* Proven experience and dedication to environmental 
protection, and commitment to Friends of Clayoquot 
Sound goals
* Commitment to working with First Nations
* Minimum Bachelor degree in related field (Masters 
preferred) and an understanding of marine and fisheries 
science
* Excellent time management skills
* Ability to work within a large coalition
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team
* Excellent computer proficiency

The applicant will be responsible to the Board of Directors 
and a broader coalition. This is a full time, salaried position 
based in Tofino, BC. Preference will be given to applicants 
who can commit to a minimum of two years.
