Environmental Educator

Salary: $12/hour  20-30 hours per week
Languages:  Proficient in English and French.
Work Setting Experience: Non-governmental organization
Employment duration minimum: March –May 06

Education: University or college degree in Education, Recreation, Biology,
or Environmental Science other related field an asset.

Generic Skills: Strong leadership skills, computer skills, organizational
skills, writing, public speaking skills and classroom management an asset.

Other Information: Knowledge of Atlantic Provinces ecological processes and
issues an asset, must work well and preferably have had experience with
children/youth, enthusiastic, resourceful, energetic, flexible and must be
able to work unsupervised and independently at times.  Must be able to
travel and have access to a vehicle and a computer.

Duties: Successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of
elementary and high school environmental education programs for schools
within the Maritimes in the French and English languages. Position entails
going to several classrooms within a day delivering programs focused on
local ecosystems indoor and outdoor of schools and inspiring children to
build a sense of stewardship and connection to their environment. The
position requires extensive traveling particularly in New Brunswick and PEI
and demands high level of energy.
