"What power have we got to change things?' ask LETS organizers, "The
power to bring control back down to the local level. By inventing
their own specific kind of money, people involved in LETS change the way things are produced and choose their own kind of just and ecological society each day"
Since April 2005, the Halifax Local Exchange Trading System (LETS)
has been working to provide equal and ecological access to resources for everyone. In honour of our 1-year anniversary, and the 35th anniversary of our partner the Ecology Action Centre please come enjoy our Trading Festival!
Local Exchange Trading Festival

The pinnacle of power in today's world
is the power to issue money.
If that power can be democratized and
focused in a direction which gives social and ecological concerns top
priority, then there may yet be hope
for saving the world.
