MessageSABLE ISLAND PUBLIC MEETING AND ILLUSTRATED TALKS


The Ecology Action Centre and the Sable Island Green Horse Society invite you to participate in a public meeting devoted to Sable Island on February 16th from 7:00 until 9:30pm at the Scotiabank Conference Theatre, Room 201 Sobey Building, Saint Mary's University Campus.   

A year has passed since the Government of Canada announced its commitment to conservation and long-term support of a human presence on Sable Island. We are holding a public meeting to review ongoing research and operations on Sable Island, and to provide and update on progress toward a secure future for the Island.  A Question and Answer Session, and Reception will follow.

Illustrated talks will be presented by:
Thomas J Duck, Physics and Atmospheric Science, Dalhousie University

W. Don Bowen, Population Ecology Division, Bedford Institute of Oceanography 

Sonya Dehler, Geophysical Survey of Canada, Bedford Institute of Oceanography 

Zoe Lucas, Biologist and Sable Island Resident

A representative from Environment Canada



Cohosting the event are Saint Mary's University, the World Wildlife Fund and the Nova Scotian Institute of Science.
