The Arthur Irving Academy for the Environment
is very proud to present to you this special ACADEMY PERFORMANCE...

"A SENSE OF WONDER"
A Play Based on the Life and Works of Rachel Carson
Performed by Kaiulani Lee
October 18, 2006 7:30 pm
Atlantic Theatre Festival
(Tickets - $5/students, $15/adults
on sale at the Arena Box Office and the ATF Box Office)

Rachel Carson has been called the "Patron Saint of the Environmental
Movement"! She was a marine biologist and zoologist best know for her book
Silent Spring, which alerted the world to the dangers of chemical pesticides
and launched our modern environmental movement. Also, through her poetry of
the natural world she brought alive the beauty and the mystery of the seas
and its creatures.

Kaiulani brings to the writing and acting of "A Sense of Wonder" over thirty
years of experience in theater, film and television. She has starred in
more than a dozen plays on and off Broadway. She has been nominated for the
Drama Desk Award on Broadway and has won the OBIE Award for outstanding
achievement off Broadway. Ms. Lee has guest starred on numerous TV series
from The Waltons to Law and Order. She starred as Martha Ballard in the
critically acclaimed PBS film A Midwife's Tale.

"Rachel Carson shook the world of journalism and changed the shape of
environmental politics. There are few, if any, comparable figures in either
field. Kaiulani Lee's performance gave me the opportunity to feel I had met
this remarkable woman and experienced the quiet courage of Rachel
Carson."... Peter Dykstra, CNN.

"Kaiulani Lee's performance was superb, one of the most moving evenings of
theatre which I have experienced. It was a transforming experience."...Jack
Coogan, Professor of Communication Arts, Claremont School of Theology

Don't Miss this Special
Academy Performance!
