People, a project of the Ecology Action Centre and the Nova Scotia
Department of Health Promotion and Protection


The Spring 2007 issue of Walking & Wheeling Quarterly is running behind
schedule and will be published by the end of the month. However, there are
lots of active transportation goings on coming up in April and Walking &
Wheeling didn't want its readers to miss out on these exciting events:

*2007 Nova Scotia Cycling Summit*

Following on the successful Cape Breton Cycling Summit held in 2006, the
2007 Nova Scotia Cycling Summit will be held Saturday, April 21 in Eureka,
Pictou County. The goal of the Summit is to share experiences of bicycle
transportation initiatives in Nova Scotia, discuss obstacles and solutions
to increased bicycle use and to develop policy recommendations for increased
bicycle infrastructure, education, safety and promotion of bicycles as
transportation in all parts of the province. Progress in bicycle related
projects over the past year, since the 2006 Summit, will be celebrated. The
Summit is a partnership between Bicycle Nova Scotia, the Ecology Action
Centre, Kieran Pathways and Velo Cape Breton.

Location: Eureka Fire Hall, Eureka, Pictou County
Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Registration: $20.00 / person, includes coffee breaks and lunch
Early registration due by April 10
