RECLAIMING THE FORBIDDEN FOREST

A Roundtable Discussion on the Practice, Challenges and Opportunities of
Community Forestry in New Brunswick

The Conservation Council of New Brunswick invites the public to attend
this event which will take place at the Renaissance College, 811 Charlotte
Street in Fredericton at 7PM on Wednesday, January 24.

The event will bring together the collective wisdom of woodlot owners,
First Nations, community forestry proponents and practitioners in the
province, and those studying examples of community forestry across New
Brunswick and Canada.

Speakers include:

    * Andrew Clark, Director of the Carleton-Victoria Forest Products
Marketing Board and Woodlot Owner
    * Brad Paul, councilor, St. Mary’s First Nation
    * David Coon, Policy Director, Conservation Council of New Brunswick
    * Sara Teitelbaum, PhD candidate in the Faculty of Forestry and
Environmental Management, University of New Brunswick
    * Susan Machum, Canada Research Chair on Social Justice, St. Thomas
University
    * Tom Beckley, Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management,
University of New Brunswick
    * Frank Carroll, Mayor of McAdam
    * Jean Arnold, Falls Brook Centre

Une table ronde publique sur la pratique, les défis et les occasions de la
foresterie communautaire au Nouveau-Brunswick

Le Conseil de la conservation du Nouveau-Brunswick convie tous les
intéressés à cet évènement qui auralieu le mercredi 24 janvier 2007 au
Renaissance College situé au 811 rue Charlotte à Fredericton.

L'événement réunira la sagesse collective de propriétaires de lots boisés
privés, de Premières Nations, de partisans et de praticiens de la
foresterie communautaire dans la province et des gens qui étudient des
exemples de foresterie communautaire à travers le Nouveau-Brunwick et le
Canada.
