The Food and Wine Club, Valley Wine Tours & Eastwind Cycle Presents:
Annapolis Valley: Vine, Wine & Cycle Tour, Sunday, July 8th, 2007
Valley Wine Tours\ Gray Line in conjunction with East Wind Cycle invites you
to explore Nova Scotia Wine Country on two wheels.
The adventure begins with Peter Williams, Owner of Eastwind Cycle on a
guided expedition through gently rolling countryside along the dykes to
Canning. We provide a 21 speed Cannondale touring bike, a helmet, a map and
all the encouragement you need for an easy ride through lush farmland, just
enough to ready your taste buds for what is to follow.
First stop is Blomidon Estate Winery. The recently purchased winery is set
to re-emerge as a force on the Nova Scotia wine scene. With Bruce Ewart -
(former head winemaker for Hawthorne Mountain and Summerhill wineries in
British Columbia) at the helm, the wines of Blomidon are poised to become
some of Nova Scotia's best.
>From there we wend our way to Foxhill Farm - Nova Scotia's most sought after
fromagerie. Jeanita Rand owner/operator of Foxhill Farm will be on hand to
share the art of cheese-making and lead a tasting of her award winning
cheeses.
Next it is on to Gaspereau Vineyards, Nova Scotia's spectacular new boutique
winery for a two course gourmet picnic lunch with paired wines prepared by
chef Judith Williams former chef/owner of Broadway Cafe in Sussex NB.
Embrace the marriage of Nova Scotia wine and food nestled beside 35 acres of
Vineyard. Following lunch you will be treated to a special tour and tasting
inside the cellar of Gaspereau Winery, led by the winemaker herself, Gina
Haverstock.
Begin the day a Nova Scotia Wine Enthusiast end the Day a Nova Scotia Wine
