The Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens is a place where 
nature, research and technology come together to promote 
and practice conservation and sustainability within the 
Acadian Forest Region. The Gardens occupy more than 
six acres and provide a meeting place for science and 
nature on the campus of Acadia University in Wolfville 
Nova Scotia.

The main collection is laid out in nine native habitats of 
the Acadian Forest Region including a Bog, Sandbarrens, 
Coniferous and Deciduous Woodlands among other. 
Additional features of the Gardens include a Medicinal 
and Food Garden, Conservatory, formal Walled Garden, 
Experimental Garden and Woodland Trails.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic permanent 
member of our seasonal team. This individual must love 
plants and people.

The Trails Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for 
care and maintenance of the Woodland Trails; tree and 
shrub pruning, removal of invasive species and trail 
upkeep. Other duties include; Maintenance of Garden 
hardscapes, irrigation systems and equipment for the Trails, 
Gardens and Centre.

Experience with chain saw and tractor a must. Knowledge 
of small engine repair and maintenance required.

$12-$14/hour range (based on experience), 35 hours/week 
April to September
