The topic for the evening is: "Is Christianity a Green Faith?" The
Honourable Mark Parent, The NS Minister of Environment and Labour will be
the keynote speaker.  Also speaking and appearing on a panel will be Dr.
James Drummond, Professor of Physics and Atmospheric Science at Dalhousie
University, and Dr. William H. Brackney, Distinguished Professor of
Christian Theology and Ethics at Acadia Divinity College.

PLAN
*The Nova Scotia Department of Energy is:
· updating the Energy Strategy 2001 
· Creating a Climate Change Action Plan (focused on climate change -
especially action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions).

The information gathered through written submission and public consulation
supported by these two documents will be used to create the Energy Strategy
and the Climate Action Plan. Consultation on both is scheduled for this

"THE ECONOMICS OF HAPPINESS: BUILDING GENUINE WEALTH" AUTHOR MARK ANIELSKI

Mark Anielski is President and CEO of Anielski Management Inc (AMI) located
in Edmonton, Alberta. 
As an economist he works with communities, businesses and governments to
help them assess, measure and manage their genuine wealth -- the things that
matter most to their well-being, quality of life and sustainability. He
believes that what we measure reveals our true values. He is schooled in
economics, accounting and forestry and hold a M.Sc. in forest economics, a
B.A. in economics and B.Sc.F in forest science, all from the University of
Alberta. In addition to his consulting practice, he teaches Sustainable
Economics at the new Bainbridge Graduate Institute (Washington) -- the first
sustainability MBA program in US in sustainable business enterprise whose
goal is to "integrate the wisdom of sustainability, ethics, and social
responsibility into business practice via management education and research,
business sustainability, ethics and corporate social responsibility". He is
also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta, School of Business
and teach a course in Corporate Social Responsibility and Social

HUMAN TRAFFICKING : LOOKING BENEATH THE SURFACE - WHAT COMMUNITIES NEED TO
KNOW.  
This presentation will explore human trafficking in the Canadian context and
what measures the Government of Canada has taken to address the needs of
victims of trafficking and apprehend/prosecute traffickers.  The
presentation will be held at the Spring Garden Road Memorial Public Library
on Tuesday, November 27th, at 7pm.  Admission is FREE. This presentation is
brought to you by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Halifax Refugee
Clinic, and the Canadian Red Cross in partnership with the Spring Garden
Road Memorial Public Library.

GREEN DRINKS AT NICHE LOUNGE ON NOVEMBER 28TH AT 7PM
Green Drinks will be taking place on November 28th at 7pm.  We have adopted
the Niche Lounge as our new home so don't be wandering over to Quinpool
looking for us or the pub that once housed us because you will find neither.
The Niche Lounge is located on Barrington Street in the belly of the Aliant
building.  There are plenty of bus routes that drive right on by and you can
lock your bike up in the parkade just down the street or select the
