Dear Friends and Supporters of Fair Trade,

 

As you know, JUDES has partnered with a Fair Trade, organic coffee farming
community of Chayotepec, situated in the beautiful Oaxaca region of Mexico
to offer you this unique opportunity for a small-group, guided, responsible
travel experience that respects local peoples and the environment.

 

The response to this experience has been very positive and our first trip is
full, but there is still space on our second trip! Leave winter behind and
take advantage of lower flight prices to learn about the ancient Zapotec
culture and how they have protected their forests for thousands of years.
Try your hand at harvesting coffee, hear the stories and music of this rich
cultural area, relax and enjoy the tranquility, and experience the delights
of the local food. 

 

Departure: Saturday, February 28 - Sunday, March 8, 2009. 

.         Cost: $1350 per person (excludes flights & insurance).  

.         Fees include all transportation within Oaxaca (private van), 8
nights accommodation (double-occupancy), knowledgeable and bilingual guides,
meals, entrance to historic sites, and most activities.  The fee also
includes a Sustainability Fee (towards Gold Standard carbon offsets for
international and local travel & local environmental projects), a
Reciprocity Fund (to bring representatives from producer communities to
Canada), and a contribution towards the administration & education costs of
JUDES.

Registration deadline is 30 days prior to departure.  Space is limited (max:
9 people / trip), so register early!
