VOLUNTEER / INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY



Position: Certified Organic Market Garden Assistant

Organization: Hughes Hill Farms 

Location: Kelly's Cross, Prince Edward Island



We have approximataly 80 acres of certified organic

farmland and approximately 20 acres still in transition to

organic. We grow approximately 3 acres of certified organic

market garden and milk a small herd of registered holsteins

and jerseys (in transition to organic). We love what we're

doing, but are finding it hard to keep up with the pace on

our own. We have 3 young children (7, 6, 4 years old) 

and are very busy! 



We can offer a semi-private room in our rec-room (divided 

by a curtain from the rest of the room), meals, and some 

spending money on good market days. Must be friendly,

out-going (important if you would like to help at the

farmer's market), enjoy children, and be at least somewhat

familiar with farming. We would welcome you to be a part of

the family and be involved in our activities. We don't work

on Sundays (except for livestock chores). Must be fluent in

English. 



A vehicle is not essential as we could pick up the 

successful applicant when they arrive on PEI.  We would 

take someone at any time - up until October.  We are a non-

smoking household and are located in central PEI (approx. 

30 minutes from Charlottetown, Summerside and Cavendish).
