Muriel Duckworth’s 100th Birthday Concert and Celebration
November 2, 2pm
Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Dalhousie Arts Centre, Halifax, NS
A fundraising concert to launch the Oxfam Canada Jack and Muriel
Duckworth
Fund for Active Global Citizenship
A reception in the Dalhousie Arts Centre Sculpture Court will begin at
2 pm with the concert following at 3:15pm .
Veteran peace and social justice activist, Muriel Duckworth is
celebrating her 100th Birthday. To honour the occasion and the
inspiring leadership both she and her late husband have given to
thousands of Canadians, 100 voices will rise in song and Oxfam will
launch the Oxfam Canada Jack and Muriel Duckworth Fund for Active
GlobalCitizenship.
Concert performers include: Aeolian Singers, Carolyn McDade with the
Gaia Singers, Cathy Martin with We’koqma’qewiskwa, Clearing by Noon,
Cheryl Gaudet, Four the Moment, Raging Grannies, Truro Youth Choir and
other special guests.
The Fund supports Oxfam Canada’s work at home and with counterparts
overseas - especially youth and women who are exercising their rights
to be heard in order to create peaceful states and communities where
poverty is overcome and social justice prevails.
