Join Us for Some Holiday Fun! The Nature Trust Hosts a Christmas Bird Count!

Each year, the National Audubon Society relies on birders across North
America to go out during the month of December and collect data on the
locations and numbers of birds of all kinds. This data is then compiled by
Audubon, and used by various organizations to help them assess the health of
birth populations. YOU can participate in the 2009 Christmas Bird Count in
Halifax! Join the Nature Trust staff and other keen birders for this citizen
science activity.

Date and time: Sunday, December 20th, at 9:00am sharp.
Location: Purcell’s Cove Conservation Lands, off of Purcell’s Cove Road, in
the community of Purcell’s Cove.
Duration and equipment needed: 3 hours of hiking along trails, please bring
sturdy footwear, food and water, binoculars, and a clipboard or notebook (we
will have forms for each birder to fill out).

Please feel free to call for directions. You can get there by bus (take the
15 Purcells Cove from the Mumford bus terminal).
