Job Description: Managing Director



The Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day

organizational and fundraising operations of the Green Party

of Nova Scotia (GPNS). The Director works independently and

cooperatively to provide on-going support to Green Party

members, officials, riding associations, candidates, and

MLAs. The Director's main focus is to ensure the development

and growth of the GPNS through the design and implementation

of appropriate organizational and fundraising strategies.

The Director oversees these projects as well as coordinates

staff, contractors and volunteers to assist in each effort.



The primary objectives to be achieved by and under the

guidance of the Director include:



* Design and implementation of a province-wide fundraising

strategy that also supports the fundraising efforts of local

riding associations and campaigns

* Cultivation of vibrant riding associations across the province

* Election preparedness and various riding association

training requirements

* Effective and well-coordinated internal Party

communications to members, contacts/subscribers, riding

associations, and other relevant groups

* Contribution to external communication plans and strategies

* Assistance with coordinated external communications from

leadership, riding associations, and candidates across the province



The Director reports to the GPNS Executive. A written

Director's report is submitted monthly. The Co-Presidents

are the primary point of contact.



The Managing Director is a full-time contract position. It

requires flexible hours and the ability to work evenings and

weekends as necessary. The Director works mostly from home

and is available for travel around the province as necessary.



The Green Party reimburses the Director for all reasonable

expenses incurred in the performance of duties, provided

GPNS reimbursement requirements are followed.



The Managing Director is expected to demonstrate the

initiative and flexibility to move the party forward,

including taking on other duties and responsibilities as

required in accordance with the objectives outlined by 

the Party Executive.
