ABOUT WINDHORSE FARM



Windhorse Farm is situated on a peaceful lake in southwestern 

Nova Scotia. This heritage farm is a 169 year-old experiment 

in sustainability through diversity. It is a celebration of rural 

life, including forestry, retail eco-wood businesses, permaculture 

gardens, food processing, seed saving, a native plant nursery 

and domestic animal care.



To this 250 acres of pristine natural landscape, we welcome

those who share our enthusiasm for rural, personal and

community development within a meditative learning

environment.



PROGRAM COORDINATOR & HOST



The program coordinator/host's responsibilities include:



* Co-creating, with the directors, visionary and practical

educational programming;

* Communicating with existing and potential partner organizations

and friends about opportunities existing at Windhorse Farm;

* Reaching out to organizations and individuals who could

benefit from the use of Windhorse Farm facilities and services;

* Planning, arranging, scheduling, coordinating and

following up visits and programs;

* Offering friendly and effective service to visitors;

retreatants, vacationers, and program participants;

* Budgeting and bookkeeping for programs and facilities rentals;

* Managing the Windhorse Farm program database;

* Hosting and facilitating conversations and gatherings.



The successful applicant will:



* have a cheerful and adaptive personality and a desire to

live a simple life off the grid in a rustic forest cabin.

* have a keen interest in, and experience of, personal

meditative/contemplative discipline.

* have experience in program development and coordination

(see "responsibilities" above).

* be a non-smoker, without accompanying dog or cat.



LIVING SITUATION



You will live in a rustic forest cabin with private bedroom, 

shared kitchen, off grid solar power, next a well with pure 

clean water. A short walk will take you to the gardens, 

pavilion (phone, internet, VCR/DVD, community space), 

office, farm house, showers, sauna, swimming pond, lake 

and river.



We are about 10 min drive from Bridgewater and 1.25 hours

from Halifax, so a car might come in handy. We meditate

together in the afternoon and occasionally have potluck
