Deconstructing Dinner and Building a Living Food Economy
Public Talk at Acadia on Wednesday September 30th @ 7pm
with Jon Steinman and Tom Stearns

BALLE-Nova Scotia (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies),
Friends of Agriculture in Nova Scotia (FANS), Acadia Community Farm,
and the Irving Academy for the Environment, together invite you a
public presentation on Wednesday September 30th at 7pm at Acadia
University in Wolfville (Beveridge Arts Centre, Rm 132), with Tom
Stearns, CEO of High Mowing Seeds and President of the Center for an
Agricultural Economy, and Jon Steinman, Host of Deconstructing
Dinner. Together for one night only! The event is free, donations
welcome (suggested: $8).

Business With a Conscience: A Triple Bottom Line Workshop" on Friday
October 2, 2009, 10 am -1 pm. Workshop is free, lunch is $10;pre-
registration required. Tom Stearns, CEO of High Mowing Seeds and
local entrepreneurs Ellen Agger and Alleson Kase of TAMMACHAT Natural
Textiles explore how to succeed in running a triple P bottom line
business (people, planet and profits). Tom has built a successful
organic seed company in Vermont, and Alleson and Ellen have created a
company that brings together their concerns for environmental
responsibility and fair trade with their love of textiles. A local
organic lunch will be served. Please register by September 28th. The
