EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position: Environmental Educator
Organization: Ducks Unlimited Canada http://www.ducks.ca
Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick
The Environmental Educators will deliver Ducks Unlimited
Canada "Project Webfoot" field trips to 2500+ Grade 4
students in New Brunswick.
Activities include: traveling to various wetland sites in
New Brunswick to deliver outdoor, field experience programs;
liaising with wetland sites, program participants, and
Interpretive and Education Specialist; booking programs,
confirmation, and invoicing; assisting DUC staff with other
environmental education programs, conferences, and volunteer
workshops, as required; maintaining accurate files and
information management, including basic accounting and
expenditures; reporting to the Interpretive and Education
Specialist on program progress; and completing a final report.
This position involves a lot of travel. Some evening and
weekend work may be required. You will work in a team with
another summer student. The position is based out of the
Ducks Unlimited Conservation Centre in Fredericton. The
position is for 12 weeks at $12.00/hour (approximately
35 hours per week) commencing April 26, 2010.
Candidates must:
* One position must possess a valid driver's license
* One position must be eligible to rent a vehicle
* Be fluently bilingual (English and French)
* Possess valid first aid and CPR training
* Have experience working with youth and delivering youth programs
* Knowledge of wildlife/wetland biology (or equivalent experience)
is an asset
* Excellent communication and organization skills
* Enthusiasm for the outdoors, wildlife and environmental
conservation
* Energetic and love working with children and the public
