FIRST VOICES INDIGENOUS ARTS FESTIVAL

 

When:  October 2, 2010  

Where: Performance: McNally Theatre, SMU 7 pm           Youth Workshops:
AGNS 9am - 4 pm

 

Aboriginal youth from Canada and around the world have important stories to
tell!  Be a part of the First Voices International Arts Festival on October
2nd, 2010 in Halifax, NS. Dancers, musicians, poets, and visual artists from
Botswana, the Philippines, Guatemala, Chile and Honduras, in addition to
First Nations and Inuit artists from Atlantic Canada, will share their
stories through performances and workshops.

 

Join these talented youth at a performance showcasing indigenous cultures
from around the world at 7 pm at the McNally Theatre at Saint Mary's
University. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Workshops for youth ages 14-20 using video, music, dance and visual art to
tell a story will be held during the day at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
Full-day workshop cost is $15 and includes lunch and a ticket to the evening
performance.
