' Dieppe celebrates the diversity of its local products and its
cultural vitality

The City of Dieppe, in collaboration with Really Local Harvest and
the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre, is holding its second edition of
the Harvest Festival, from October 15 to 17, 2010. Dieppe’s Harvest
Festival is a community event promoting the quality and diversity of
our local products and celebrating our community’s cultural vitality.

Friday, October 15:
Join us for the “Eating local foods” evening, starting at 8 p.m. at
the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre. This evening features Alisa
Smith, coauthor of the book The 100-mile diet: A year of local eating
and co-host of the The 100-mile challenge broadcasted last year on
the Food Network (http://100mile.foodtv.ca/). She will talk about her
experience of spending a whole year eating only products grown less
than 100 miles from her apartment.

This evening will also feature Justin Guitard and Karine Godin, hosts
of the morning show Bo matin on Bo-FM, from Monday to Friday, who
will take up the challenge of eating only products from the Dieppe
Market for a week. While this means no ketchup, restaurants, chips or
peanut butter for an entire week, it does mean lots of fresh
vegetables, tasty cheeses, delicious breads and juicy meats.

The event will end with a wine and cheese, prepared by Le Petit
Cavalier’s chef, with products coming from Really Local Harvest
members. This way, you can purchase your evening favourites the next
morning at the Dieppe Market! Tickets will be on sale at the Dieppe
