Climate change is not just an environmental issue. When farmers’ crops fail
> from unnatural droughts, this is a livelihood issue. When our grandparents
> die from heat waves, this is a health issue. When the animals people
> traditionally hunt are no longer there, this is a survival issue. When
> children can no longer play hockey on outdoor rinks, this is a cultural
> issue. When job opportunities disappear because corporations and governments
> refused to listen to a changing world, this is an economic issue. It is our
> future at stake.
>
> The Atlantic Eco-Warrior Training will bring together youth aged 13-30 from
> around Nova Scotia. Participants aged 13-18 will focus on building a strong
> foundation in environmental and social justice and organizational skills
> relevant to high school student at the Sierra Youth Coalition’s YAG.
> Participants aged 19-30 will focus on movement building in the community and
> developing capacity in organizing around climate justice at the CYCC’s
> PowerSummer.
>

> youth-positive space, making music, playing games and hanging out. Workshops will
> be focused on global and local water issues, farm-to-table food production,
> pollution and poverty, migrant justice, *anti-oppression*, *media/communication
> skills, facilitation skills, action planning* *for sustainable high schools
> *, zine making, movie-making for social justice, cooking the local way,
> and more.
>
> *PowerSummer* is a set of workshops geared towards youth *18-30 years olds
> *, who want to *become empowered with the skills, connections, and
> confidence to become effective grassroots organizers*. Power Summer is a

> organizers from *coast to coast*. PowerSummer Atlantic will include
> training in popular education, action & strategy, communications, messaging,
