BAN NUCLEAR WEAPONS – A STRANGE BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE DREAM Monday, September

FILM SCREENING: "PEACE ONE DAY"

mark International Peace Day. "Peace One Day" charts the remarkable 10-year
journey of award-winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley to establish an annual
Peace Day on 21 September. The camera follows Jeremy as he galvanises the
countries of the world to recognise an official day of ceasefire and

ROGER ANNIS – EYEWITNESS TO EARTHQUAKE RECOVERY IN HAITI September
28-October 2 Events TBD.
Coordinator of the Canada Haiti Action Network (CHAN) will be in Halifax at
the end of this month to speak about his investigative trip to Haiti and
Help us organize his events. Interested in having him speak at your school
or organization? If so, contact the Halifax Peace Coalition. 
Biography of Roger Annis: Roger Annis is a coordinator of the Canada Haiti
Action Network (CHAN) and its Vancouver affiliate, Haiti Solidarity BC. In
June 2011, he led a ten-day fact-finding and solidarity delegation to Haiti
on behalf of CHAN. The delegation’s report can be accessed in English or
French on this page of the CHAN website:
http://canadahaitiaction.ca/human_rights. The Canada Haiti Action Network is
an advocacy group for sovereignty and social justice for Haiti. Mr. Annis is
the editor of its website: http://canadahaitiaction.ca/. He is a frequent
writer on Haiti. His articles present a critical analysis of Canada’s
presence in Haiti. Canada, he and CHAN argue, should break from the
neo-colonial policies it has been practicing in Haiti with its U.S. and
