Greetings,

Those who are interested in the oil, economic development, and the
environment may be interested in my recent article:

Dutch disease denial: Inflation, politics, and tar
	http://rabble.ca/blogs/bloggers/christophermajka/2012/05/dutch-disease-denial-inflation-politics-and-tar

Currently "Dutch disease" (emphatically not the same as Dutch elm
disease ;~>) is much in the news as a result of NDP leader Thomas
Mulcair's assertion that Canada suffers from it. If you would like to
find out more about this economic malaise and what factors have caused
it - in both the Netherlands and Canada - feel free to peruse the
article. Although Dutch disease is an economic phenomenon, in Canada
it is intimately connected with the exploitation of the Athabaska
bitumen sands, which of course, have significant environmental and
climate change repercussions.

Best wishes!

Christopher Majka
