The Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) is a coalition of
individuals, organizations, and institutions working in the Atlantic region,
which are committed to achieving global sustainability in a peaceful and
healthy environment, with social justice, human dignity, and participation
for all. ACIC supports its members in international cooperation and
education through collective leadership, networking, information, training
and coordination, and represents their interests when dealing with
government and others. 

 

ACIC also takes a leadership role in engaging Atlantic Canadians around
issues relating to international development, global sustainability, and
social justice. Through our public engagement work, ACIC strives to give
Atlantic Canadians the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to become
active global citizens. 

 

We currently have over 70 members, including national organizations and
grassroots organizations from across the Atlantic Provinces.  For more

ACIC is looking for a responsible, experienced person to fill the position
of Membership Coordinator. 

Responsibilities:

.         Create and implement a member revitalization strategy that will
address the barriers to engagement through innovative solutions

.         Assist in the on-going development/maintenance of membership 

.         Maintain membership database and track finances

.         Develop an outreach program that will target potential members

.         Liaise with members and potential members on an on-going basis

.         Support the Membership Committee and Board of Directors in
reviewing and maintaining membership policies and procedures, as necessary

.         Develop and implement a training plan for capacity building
activities - including development of needs assessment, analysis of
assessment, creation of training plan

.         Implement annual capacity building training plan - liaising with
consultants, developing contracts, organizing and promoting workshops

.         Providing general office administration support

 

Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

 

q  Background in International Development, Communications or equivalent

q  Knowledge of NGO international development and community groups in the
Atlantic

q  Excellent written and verbal communication skills - bilingual in English
and French an asset;

q  Experience working with different interest groups

q  Experience working with volunteers (committees, board members)

q  Experience organizing logistics for workshops, conferences, and other
events

q  Ability to work independently.

q  Excellent organizational and time management skills

q  Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Word press an asset)

 

Salary:  $16.00/hour - 20 hours per week, three month contract with
possibility of extension
