Multi-Unit Residential Energy Savings Program and Business Energy Solutions
Position: Program Representatives (2)
Type of Employment: Part-time - Approximately 16-24 hours per week, with possibility of more
Contract: Short-term contract, April - June 28, 2013 (possible extension, possibility for continuation in the fall)
Rate of Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour + mileage compensation

Summerhill is dedicated todeveloping, implementing and managing public engagement and market transformation programs that lead to measurable improvements in energy savings.

We are currently seeking outgoing, energetic and dynamic individuals to join our team as

Program Representatives to work on a hybrid role between two different programs: our Multi-Unit Residential Install energy savings program as well as our Business Energy Sales program in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Our Multi-Unit Residential Install energy savings program requires representatives to perform the installation of energy-saving products in pre-determined residential building units. Our Business Energy Solutions program entails performing audits at local businesses, with the possibility of performing installs at some businesses. Our Residential Energy Solutions requires reps to engage home owners about specific energy saving products. The bulk of the role is working on the Install program and shifts/hours on the Business/Residential Energy Solutions would be made available to you as they arise.

Full paid health & safety and job training will be provided prior to the program start date. Representatives will also receive mileage compensation for program-related travel.

Training & event Schedule

Training to be determined upon hire.

Training Location: Summerhill Halifax Office - 1819 Granville St., Suite 501, Halifax NS

Responsibilities:
• Perform the installation of energy efficient products in multi-unit residential buildings (condos and apartments)
• Actively educate and engage program participants
• Actively engage in creating a safe work environment for yourself and co-workers
• Reporting as needed via online databases
• Inventory management and reconciliation
• Commit to fulfilling fluctuating work demands and schedule
• Engage business owners and perform energy checks

Qualifications/Job Requirements:
• Physically fit and able to remain active for the duration of shifts
• Access to a reliable vehicle to use for the duration of the program
• Must own CSA-approved safety footwear
• Have a friendly and professional manner and appearance; comfortable with entering apartment and condo units
• Be comfortable with the installation of various products such as compact fluorescent light bulbs, LEDs, and energy efficient water measures (full training provided)
• Sales experience is an asset
• Possess a background in environmental studies, or have a strong interest in energy conservation
• Outgoing and positive personality
• Detail-oriented, punctual, conscientious, reliable and able to work independently
• Access to a computer with the Internet and comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) to complete daily staffing and event documents
• Mobile phone
