Job Description
The Berry Network Coordinator will support the development of a self-sustaining network of growers interested in organic berry and small fruit production in the Maritimes. The primary focus will be on coordinating both formal and informal educational opportunities and encouraging networking that will foster connections of producer-to-producer information sharing to continue beyond this contract. Please note that funding for this position was provided through the NB Agricultural Council as well as the PEI ADAPT Council and activities will be focused for these Provinces.

Specific tasks will include:
• Event coordination -- regional fruit tours, out-of-region educational mission, kitchen table meetings
• Conference coordination -- organizing a Berry Symposium as part of the ACORN Annual Conference & Trade Show and managing registration
• Communications -- content generation and editing of a berry newsletter, maintaining and encouraging on-going communications among the network
• Grant reporting and writing

Qualifications
• Extensive event coordination experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated involvement and/or educational training in fields related to organic agriculture, farmer training, food systems and/or the environment
• Effective budget management skills
• Public relations and media experience
• Valid driver's license

Job details
25 hours/week at $20.00/hour for a 10-month contract with travel budget. Start date late-February (negotiable). The successful candidate will ideally work from a home office with the ability to occasionally work from ACORN's office in Sackville, NB.
