Introduction to Straw Bale Construction
From Bale Installation to Earth Plasters
Friday June 21 - Sunday June 23
at the Deanery Project,Lower Ship Harbour, Eastern Shore, NS

This workshop will explore “straw bales” as a super insulated, environmentally low-impact, affordable construction option. 
Special attention will be given to opportunities and challenges of building in the Maritimes.

A straw bale interior wrap to the Bike Hub at the Deanery Project  will provide a base from which to explore load bearing and 
non load bearing straw bale concepts and design as well as provide hands-on practice for both experienced and novice builders. 
Hands on instruction will include reshaping and stacking bales and earth plastering.
