Position: Wetland Restoration Inventory Specialist

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is seeking an energetic self-motivated individual to help deliver DUC's wetland compensation delivery program in New Brunswick (NB). This one-year term position will be based in Fredericton, NB.

The Wetland Restoration Inventory Specialist is responsible for finding and helping deliver wetland restoration projects across the province. Much of your time will be spent doing desktop analysis and traveling the province to assess potential restoration projects. You will work within a team of professionals from the Atlantic Provinces to develop skills related to finding potential sites, assessing site suitability, helping with restoration delivery and working with interested landowners. There will be additional opportunities to work closely with other conservation team projects.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in biology, ecology, forestry, or resource management combined with a minimum of two years' experience.
• Knowledge of wetland systems, wetland identification, GIS, and bilingualism are considered assets.
• Strong communication skills which can be applied to advance DUC's mission.
• Able to take initiative; must work well in a team setting and also independently with minimum supervision.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation capable of accessing rural/forestry roads.
• A personal commitment and passion for waterfowl and wetland conservation make you the ideal candidate for this position.
