JUNE 22,23: Only four places left for Women-only chainsaw course.
Harrison Lewis Centre, South Shore NS.
Avoid injury, learn the best and safe ways to use a chain saw. Our
instructor, Patrick Allan, finds the women-only workshops special for
the exchange that takes place. While men are apt to hesitate to ask a
question, perhaps fearing that others will think it stupid, women
fire away; ask lots of questions and likely getting more out of each
class.
Workshop begings Saturday, 9 am, with basics of operation and
maintenance, leading to an afternoon of limbing and bucking. Sunday,
a day of directional felling and review. Small class assures plenty
of hands-on opportunities to become comfortable using a chainsaw.
Bring your own steel-toed boots (and your own saw if you have one and
wish to bring it). All other safety equipment can be provided.
From maintenance and safety through directional felling with
certified instructor Patrick Allan. Course limited to six. Saturday,
9 am, safe operation and maintenance, through bucking and limbing.

bag or request bedding). Arrive Friday evening if that is easier, for
additional $25 (bunk and breakfast). Registration closes May 31 for
Women Only; June 28 for Open workshop. Payment at time of
