With this much snow on the ground and our backs sore from shovelling, it is
easy to forget that just a few years ago everyone was worried about *global
warming*. Over the past decade, climate change models have been improved
and refined and we now know that the Earth's climate is changing, quickly.
Some regions are warming up, some are cooling down, some are suffering
extended drought conditions, and some are being hit by bigger and more
frequent storms.

Falls Brook Centre has been a leader in sustainable community development
for over 20 years. On Saturday, March 2, FBC is teaming up with the
Wostewea Ski Club from Fredericton for a classic cross-country ski through
some of the centre's 97 acres. Jane Hadley, a certified level 2
cross-country ski instructor will be present to offer pointers to novice
skiers, and FBC staff are hard at work putting together an informative
program on adapting to climate change.

Participants are asked to bring their own classic skis or to contact Falls
Brook Centre to arrange for loaners. In addition to the guided ski,
refreshments and hot drinks will be provided. This activity is part of a
larger series on climate change adaptation and is offered free of charge,
thanks in part to the financial support from Intact Insurance and the New
Brunswick Government, Department of Healthy and Inclusive Communities.

*Falls Brook Centre is a sustainable community classroom and training
centre in rural NB. FBC is located at 426 W Glassville Rd, West Glassville,
