Position: Workshop Hosts

Location: Halifax and HRM, Nova Scotia

We are looking for Workshop Facilitators for hosting community conversations!

A natural host, you create a warm, safe, and comfortable space for conversation. Welcoming people to our citizen-driven festival, you empower participants to lead a community initiative and ultimately facilitate the magic of 100 in 1 Day (more below).

Does that fit with you?
• Previous experience with facilitation techniques or willingness to learn
• Experience with public speaking is an asset

Your role: You help organize and set up the conversation space, assisting in hosting the dialogue, and managing the workshop process and outcomes. You will work with workshop and intervention leaders to specify needs and create an action plan for their initiative.

Facilitating each workshop typically requires availability over a three hour period. This includes time to set up, take down and deliver the two hour workshop. There will be eight workshops and they are scheduled primarily during weekday evenings.

100 in 1 Day is a platform for citizens to transform their cities - and you can help lead that change!

What if hundreds of citizens united, each putting in place the projects and changes they want to see in their city, all on the same day? That is the goal of 100 in 1 Day, a social movement originating from Bogotá, Colombia, which has inspired citizen-driven change on a significant scale, transforming cities over a 24 hour period. Coming to Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax for the second year, this event seeks to involve citizens in creating small-scale or neighbourhood-scale events or improvements that will result in a stronger, more connected and resilient communities. This event is shaped by those who organize and participate.
