Friends of McNabs Island Annual Meeting & Presentation

Join us for our 26th Annual General Meeting and presentation on Wednesday April 13 at 6:30 pm in the Small Craft Gallery of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, 1675 Lower Water Street on the Halifax Waterfront.

Special guest speaker will be coastal engineer Vincent Leys, who will talk about the impact that storms and sea level rise are having on McNabs Island. Since Hurricane Juan roared over the island in 2003, the shoreline has changed. The breakwater protecting the Maugers Beach Lighthouse was damaged considerably and the road to the lighthouse was breached causing McNabs Pond to become tidal and cutting off access to this iconic lighthouse.
