Position Title: Permaculture Intern

Falls Brook Centre is a leading education and demonstration centre that inspires people to work together, using environmentally sound practices to create thriving local communities. We work with local populations to support environmental learning for all ages, with workshops and educational programming.

This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to pursue a career or further his or her knowledge of permaculture systems. Our permaculture intern will work out in the field, in partnership with the Executive Director & Permaculture Coordinator, to manage and continue development of the permaculture gardens at our demonstration site. The Intern will also work with our Media and Promotions coordinator to assist in planning and running our Free School 2017 event, and other tasks as required.

Applications should be passionate about the natural world and able to incorporate that passion in all work that they do. Someone who is outgoing, organized, and bilingual would be preferred. You will be based out of our demonstration site in Glassville, New Brunswick and will make occasional trips to our satellite office in Fredericton. Accommodations at our Glassville demonstration site are provided.

Required:
• A current student returning to their studies in the Fall of 2017
• Between 15 – 30 years old
• Experience managing a garden
• Able to travel between Glassville and Fredericton, as required (drivers license and vehicle access)
• Enjoys being outside, rain or shine
• Ability to lift objects up to 40lbs, and perform physical work around the site

Recommended / Nice To Have:
• Schedule Flexibility
• Background knowledge of permaculture and its implementation
• Bilingual
• First aid and CPR-C
