Position: Local Food Ambassador (full-time)

Location: Moncton, New Brunswick

The Farmers’ Truck is a Moncton’s first mobile farmers’ market carrying 100% local products like fresh vegetables, fruits, breads, cheese, eggs & more. We operate six days/week and service Moncton, Riverview, Dieppe, and Shediac.

We are seeking to build a dynamic team of charismatic individuals who are proud and supportive of their local farms and products. Customers who come to the truck love talking about food, cooking, and discovering new products. It feels good to shop at the truck. We are seeking (2) Local Food Ambassadors to deliver the Farmers’ Truck experience to our customers this summer and be champions of local food!

As The Farmers’ Truck Local Food Ambassador you will be responsible for the following:
• Load and unload the truck
• Drive truck to and from location
• Work as a cashier on t
• he truck
• Keep truck clean and presentable
• Ability to communicate information from where the products originate
• Balance cash register
• Merchandise products for display and shelf presentation
• Actively involved in strategic marketing initiatives i.e. Social media updates, responding to client inquiries, etc...

This job opportunity is made possible through the Youth Employment Fund. The criteria to be eligible for this position are as follow:
• Must be available at least 30 hours/week for 26 weeks
• Must be unemployed, underemployed or working less than 15 hours per week.
• Must be a resident of New Brunswick.
• Must be between the ages of 18-29.
• Must not be a full time student.
• Have not previously participated in a Youth Employment Fund placement.

The successful candidate will also be passionate about healthy local food, well-organized, reliable, in good physical condition, and a problem-solver with strong interpersonal and time management skills. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for this position. Experience driving large commercial vehicles is an asset. Bilingualism is a must.
