ReNEW Solar Energy Workshops Bring Energy Solutions to the Eastern Shore

Community groups host two one-day workshops on energy efficiency and
renewables

Ship Harbour, NS: The Deanery Project, in collaboration with Mi’Kmaw
Alternative Energy, Appleseed Energy, and the Ecology Action Centre, is
hosting two one-day educational energy workshops on November 17th and 18th.
The workshops are part of the Deanery Project’s ReNEW project, a
collaborative initiative focused on bolstering community energy capacity on
topics ranging from solar panel installation and DIY-solutions to electric
vehicles and energy efficiency.

Join Karlena Johnson (Mi’Kmaw Alternative Energy) for lunch and a hands-on
workshop on solar convection heating systems.

A full day of workshops to get us ready for winter, and moving forward on
renewable energy systems!

The ReNEW project is an exciting new initiative seeking to provide public
learning opportunities through hands-on demonstrations and workshops on
energy efficiency and renewable technologies.

About The Deanery Project: The Deanery Project is an arts and environmental
learning centre located 65 km from Halifax on the Eastern Shore. Situated
on 25 acres of woodland waterfront The Deanery offers a wide variety of
workshops and events throughout the year, with an emphasis on topics
related to environmental sustainability, community building, artistry,
rural living skills, and natural building. The Deanery Project’s
facilities, comprised of a main lodge, accomodations for 18, woodland
trails, protected oceanfront, classrooms, and workshops are also available
for rent. Signature events The Deanery Project holds every year are the
Spring “Bike Carnival”, and “Sealight Skylight” held during the persiad
meteor shower. ​
