Position: Environmental Educator
Organization: Environmental Education Commission
Location: Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland

The Environmental Education Commission is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, hard-working people to be part of the team that teaches the environmental school programs at the Brother Brennan Environmental Education Centre. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching children, have spent lots of time in wilderness settings and a knowledge of Newfoundland flora and fauna.

The job is seasonal, usually part time, but needs flexibility in hours. Each shift is usually 2 days and one night and requires staying overnight. Occassionally there may be two shifts in a week, but usually no week-end work. It involves teaching classes of school children in a wilderness setting and is about rolemodelling and helping them experience green living while bringing school curriculum to life in the outdoors. Supervision, snack preparation etc will also be required. Currently positions are available for the fall season (mid-September to late November) with a chance for renewing in spring. Successful candidates will be required to get a police record check and valid first-aid certificate.

The Centre is located in a wilderness setting about 70 km from St John's. Own transport is preferred, but car-pooling may be an option.
