About 350.org:
350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis. Our online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions are led from the bottom up by thousands of volunteer organizers in over 188 countries. 350.org works hard to organize in a new wayeverywhere at once, using online tools to facilitate strategic offline action. Canada Digital Organizer:
350.orgs team in Canada works runs a number of national campaigns seeking to challenge the power of the fossil fuel industry in Canada. The primary focus of 350s campaigns in Canada is to build a people-powered movement to stop tar sands expansion.
350 is currently looking to hire a Canada Digital Organizer who can help us develop digital strategies for our campaigns in Canada This person will lead digital content production and support with recruitment and storytelling for national climate justice campaigns. This person will also work with our organizing team to offer digital support services for decentralized organizing all across Canada.
Responsibilities:
Campaign Strategy:
Supports Canada Digital Campaigner with the development of long-term digital strategy for the Canadian tar sands team
Implements digital strategies for national campaigns
Participates in team and organizational process to develop campaign and organizational strategies
Content Production:
Leads production of digital assets to support campaigns
Creates, maintains and updates campaign websites and action pages
Writes and sends e-mail blasts for audiences in Canada
Creates recruitment and storytelling plans for mass mobilizations and days of action
Regularly updates to 350.orgs Canadian and global social media pages
Supports digital rapid-response work in Canada
Coordinates live coverage and report-back of campaign events
Organizing:
Works with Canadian tar sands team to implement a digital engagement, outreach, and support strategy for distributed Fossil Free network and decentralized local 350 groups in Canada
Required Qualifications:
A commitment to anti-oppression principles, and intersectionality
Experienced with campaign work in climate justice and Indigenous rights movements in Canada with at least 1-2 years of organizing experience in these or other social justice movements
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with fluency in English (knowledge of other languages is a bonus). Ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms.
Experience with using social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram for organizing purposes
Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, GIMP, Inkscape, or any other design tool
Highly organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
A resilient and flexible team player who is a fast learner
Experience working in fast paced, high pressure, highly collaborative team culture
Efficient time and workload management skills.
Desired (but not required) skills and experiences:
Experience with principled digital storytelling for justice-based campaigns
Experience using Wordpress, ActionKit, Action Network and/or NewMode
Expertise in website development and graphic design
Experience with professional photography or video production
Ability to maintain a healthy work/life balance in fast-paced, high pressure working environments.
Spoken and written French an asset
Work Environment: This job is completely remote and can be done from anywhere in Canada
Travel: This position will require domestic and international travel for team meetings and campaign events

Start Date: As soon as possible
Compensation: 60,000 - 74,000 cad
