Position: Clean Leadership - Carters Beach Outreach Intern
Eligibility: ages 15–30, f/t student intending to return to school in fall 2019
Organization: Harrison Lewis Coastal Discovery Centre
Location: 357 Sandy Bay Rd., East Port L’Hebert, RR 1 Port Joli, NS B0T 1S0
Housing: opportunity to live on-site with minimal cost

Work in nature, make a difference: through the Clean Leadership Program, the Carters Beach Outreach Intern will work with Environment NS and the Harrison Lewis Coastal Discovery Centre (home base) in western Queens County.

Primary responsibilities: interacting with Carters Beach visitors, assessing impact on marine, beach, and extensive dune environment; and building public appreciation of the sensitive ecological nature of this pending Nature Reserve, while supporting the Harrison Lewis Centre as needed in to carrying out a range of natural history and rural skills related educational programs.

Qualifications include being extremely outgoing, energetic, with strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable interacting with the public in various settings (English essential, French an asset). Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle.

Start date: May 13. 

15 weeks for returning student, $13.25 per hour plus mileage.
