Job Posting: Executive Director
Organization: Tatamagouche Centre
Location: Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia

The Tatamagouche Centre is an educational centre focused on leadership development, spiritual deepening, and transformational education on both a personal and community level. The Centre is located in Mi’kma’ki in the thriving rural community of Tatamagouche on the beautiful Waugh and French Rivers. It has always been a place of meeting, convergence and transformation — foremost as an important gathering place for the Mi’kmaq people, the Acadians, and diverse visitors since. We are a charitable, non-profit organization and an education centre of the United Church of Canada.

Through the full welcome and inclusion of all people, Tatamagouche Centre offers its hospitality to everyone, works for the justice of all people, and joyfully affirms and celebrates human diversity in sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, ability, race, religion and age, regardless of economic situation. In addition to offering programs/training events, we also host activities of other like-minded organizations. The Centre currently enjoys a positive financial position through a combination of social enterprise activities, fundraising, and grants. This is an exciting opportunity for a new Executive Director to work creatively to fulfill the Centre’s mission, vision and values.

We are looking for someone who is collaborative, self-motivated, mature, and self-aware. The Applicant will be someone who has a passion for personal and social transformation through adult education and a willingness to integrate Tatamagouche Centre’s adult education model (ASPIRE). The Applicant will have strong inter-personal and cross-cultural skills and be committed to inclusion and relationships of solidarity against marginalization and oppression.

Because Tatamagouche Centre operates out of an inclusive spiritual framework, the applicant should be someone who is journeying on their own spiritual path.
