Where and how does change happen in politics? What does it mean to be an environmental leader in office? How does environmental advocacy and activism on the ground lead to change higher up?

On Saturday May 1st, join GreenPAC as we dive into the missing link between a vision for environmental change and change itself: environmental leadership in politics.

The first-ever FLIP Summit (Future Leaders in Politics) is a unique opportunity to explore where and how effective environmental leadership can be found and fostered within Canada’s political landscape, where the gaps are, and how we can take steps to filling them. Organized by GreenPAC, Canada’s only nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to building environmental leadership in politics, the FLIP Summit offers those from all backgrounds and across the country the opportunity to expand their environmental network, learn how to navigate political processes, and understand how decisions get made in politics. This full-day online event consists of a variety of fireside chats, workshops, and panel discussions with former and current decision-makers from across the political spectrum and experts guests.

>From introductory-level sessions to advanced issue deep-dives

Our “Advocate” stream is geared towards those interested in learning how to navigate the political system and legislative process, and to better engage decision-makers for the environment. Our “Politico” stream is for self-described “partisans and policy wonks” who want to learn more about the use of science in decision-making, the role of the party critic and barriers to environmental leadership in politics. Attendees can mix-and-match from different streams.

The virtual summit experience

The FLIP Summit will be hosted on a novel, user-friendly platform called Gather, where you can navigate and interact with one another through a virtual conference space, similar to how you would during an in-person conference experience.

Sessions will be recorded for attendees who are unable to attend live.
