Position: Project Manager, Communications & Events
Organization: ALUS
Location: remote, anywhere in Canada

POSITION OVERVIEW

In this newly created role, reporting to the Director of Communications and Digital Strategy, you will be responsible for coordinating various communications and marketing projects and supporting various teams in the organization of in-person and virtual events, both nationally and locally. You will contribute to ALUS' strategic communications and marketing plan, while supporting the overall vision of the organization. You will collaborate on ALUS' national and local outreach by delivering engaging, high quality communications initiatives and events.

You will also work with various project teams within ALUS as needed. ALUS is an agile organization that relies on everyone's ability to respond to multiple priorities on an ongoing basis and wants to provide internal professional development opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication & Marketing
• Support and oversee the development, delivery, and implementation of communication projects such as the creation of participants' video profiles across the country, a website redesign, a change in communication platform, etc.
• Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of digital marketing campaigns.
• Collaborate in the maintenance and enhancements of our websites, social media and internal and external newsletters.
• Track results of various initiatives through analytical tools and produce reports for various internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve our tools and processes and propose solutions.
• Participate in other ALUS projects and initiatives requiring project management or digital communications expertise.

Events
• Support virtual and in-person events at the national level in collaboration with the operations team. Participate in the organization of the event, research partners and tools where appropriate, provide some technical support for virtual events, support the creation of material, etc.
• Support the participation of ALUS National Team members in conferences and events. Follow up with organizers, ensure the creation and delivery of material if required, etc.
• Provide support to ALUS communities across the country in organizing virtual and in-person events. Offer advice, share best practices, assist in the creation of visual material, etc.
• Proactively identify opportunities for information sharing among national team members and between communities and propose and organize information sharing activities.
• Keeps abreast of the latest trends and best practices for hosting virtual events.

SKILLS, ATTRIBUTS AND EXPERIENCE
• The basics: Experience in project management, communications, marketing and events and a university degree in a related field.

• Bilingualism: ALUS being a national organization, being bilingual, English and French, is an important asset.
• Also: Basic knowledge of the sustainable agriculture concept and previous experience working in the environmental non-profit sector are assets, but an innate curiosity and growth mindset are a must.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND COMPENSATION
• Normal working hours are Monday to Friday; 35 hours per week, remote.
• Infrequent evening or weekend work as well as occasional travel required to be on the field or for in-person team meetings.
• ALUS Canada does not have a centralized office space; The person will work from a home office, which may be located anywhere in Canada with reliable access to high-speed internet.
• Candidate will be required to work from a computer that can support Microsoft Office 365 for Business, including Teams for video conferences. This may be the candidate's own computer or a computer provided by ALUS.
