This Wednesday! Online peace strategy meeting this Wednesday, March 30 at 7:30 pm ET on stop military spending increases, stop fighter jet purchase.

*CAN YOU HELP ME RAISE MONEY? I am trying to raise $400 for my trip back to Cold Lake First Nation and the Cold Lake Air Force Base in Alberta on April 6 and 7. I would like to make a donation on behalf of peace groups to the Native Friendship Centre and to the 2nd Floor Women's Recovery and FASD Centre. There has been a terrible legacy of trauma in the Dene community from the loss of their land for the establishment of the air weapons range and the air force base, which is the largest, busiest fighter jet base in Canada. This where Canada's new fighter jets will be stationed and continue the harm. I am hoping to make a $100 donation to the Native Friendship Centre, $100 to the 2nd Floor Recovery and Fetal Alcohol Treatment Centre, $100 to help me pay for tobacco & gifts for the elders and $100 for my gas and one-hotel stay at the Cold Lake First Nation run hotel. Join our expert panel to discuss possibilities of a peace agreement to end the war, featuring Gabrielle Rifkind, conflict mediator and director of Oxford Process, Ambassador Thomas Pickering, and Ambassador Norm Eisen. Anatol Lieven, senior research fellow at the Quincy Institute, will moderate.
What is clear is that the alternative to a peace agreement is a protracted war, which will lead to immense suffering and losses for the people of Ukraine. The combination of the war with Western economic sanctions is also threatening global economic recession, radical increases in food prices, and potential political instability in countries that are dependent on wheat imports. All of these factors create a very strong incentive to pursue a diplomatic path to end the conflict.
