Position: Educational Developer, Sustainability
Organization: Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary's University
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

$65,000 - $75,000 / year

We are seeking an educational consultant with knowledge of and interest in sustainability and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as they pertain to business and business education. While there are no teaching requirements attached to this position, the Educational Developer - Sustainability may have the opportunity to teach one course with an additional stipend as applicable. The opportunity is for a 1-year term with the possibility of renewal for a second year.

This position is considered an 1 (one) year contract with the University and the salary range will be $65,000 - $75,000 annually.

To be the successful Educational Developer, Sustainability you will possess, at minimum, a graduate degree in an applicable field: business, management, education, environmental studies or similar and a combination of academic and senior program management experience. PhD preferred.
• You have familiarity with:
• The Principles of Sustainability and the UN's Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs)
• One or more of the business disciplines (for example accounting, communications, economics, finance, operations, management, marketing)
• You might have relevant practical experience in the sustainability field and/or you appreciate and understand the need to integrate sustainability into business
• You have excellent knowledge of current theories and practices in education, particularly with respect to post-secondary teaching and learning (e.g., student diversity, large classes, small groups, team-based learning, blended and online learning, experiential education), and educational development.
• You understand the complexity of the academic environment and its policies and procedures. You have a demonstrated ability to develop new programs using collaborative and inter-disciplinary methods.
• You have worked with senior academic leadership, faculty, students and stakeholders to align project goals, requirements, and expectations. You can define project teams, plans, and communications. You have a successful track record of meeting deadlines in academic environments.
• You can build trusting and collaborative relationships. You have exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to perform effectively in the team-based collegial culture with senior academic leadership, faculty, and administrative staff.
