Hiring: Education Coordinator
Organization: Nature NB
Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick
Reports to: Education Manager

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, and follow up of school and community programming in French and English across the province.

The Education coordinator will also work closely with Nature NB’s conservation department to support various projects. The successful candidate will have a passion for outdoor education, work effectively in a team, show initiative and creativity in their work, and have excellent communication skills.

This is a permanent, full-time position with some weekend and evening work required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Develop and deliver creative, interactive programs about New Brunswick nature for youth;
• Develop educational materials related to conservation;
• Planning and coordinating outreach across the province;
• Lead workshops on various community science programs;
• Promote & grow community NatureKids clubs across the province and support volunteers;
• Communicate and collaborate with partner organizations and volunteers;
• Assist with grant writing & project development;
• Support staff with special events
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

Requirements
• Post-Secondary Education or equivalent work experience in natural sciences or education;
• Experience working with groups of children;
• Fluency in both French and English;
• Knowledge of New Brunswick flora & fauna;
• Exemplary and proven organization, planning, and communication (written and oral), and project management skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills including experience and proven results in working tactfully with colleagues, and ability and experience in easily communicating with a wide range of people in public and private sectors;
• Ability to develop and maintain a dynamic work plan, and meet fixed deadlines;
• Ability to work independently as well as with a project team;
• Familiarity with common computer software (Microsoft Office Suite);
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector

Assets
• Experience with CiviCRM;
• Experience in event planning;
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS);
• Experience using Canva

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

41,600 FTE, 32hr work-week, personal days, medical benefits
