HAMILTON: "Razing Palestine" Book launch
Wednesday, December 3rd, at 7:00 P.M.

At the book launch, there will be two presenters, who contributed chapters to the book:
Jillian Rogin -- Assistant professor, University of Windsor Faculty of Law, member Jewish Faculty Network & Independent Jewish Voice, contributor to the book, and Hamilton resident;
Katherine Grzejszczak - Fired after 15 years as a York Region paramedic, for a social media comment critical of Israel and calling for workers to join an anti-war rally, contributor to the book.
In addition, there will be four commentators, who will each speak for 5 minutes:
Birju Dattani -- Appointed Canada's Chief Human Rights Commissioner in 2024, he resigned from the position prior to commencing his term, following Zionist organizations' demands he be removed;
Dr. Mohammad Zubairi -- Associate Professor at McMaster med school, experienced a significant campaign to have him dismissed as EDI Director for advocating for humanitarian efforts in Palestine;
Angelune Des Lauriers -- Local labour and peace activist who has been targeted at work for her support for Palestinian human rights;
Mason Fitzpatrick -- Former grad student at McMaster and president of CUPE local 3906, made persona non grata for Palestine activism.
Paul Weinberg of IJV Hamilton will moderate.

HAMILTON: "Syria: Anatomy of Regime Change" with author & lawyer Dan Kovalik
Hamilton book launch will take place at 7 pm on Monday, December 8th, in the Southwest Lounge of New Vision United Church, 24 Main Street West.
The launch in Hamilton will take place on Monday, December 8th, which happens to be the first anniversary of the fall of the Assad government of Syria. The new book details the long history of attempts by the USA to overthrow the governments of Hafez and Bashar Assad, presidents of the Syrian Arab Republic. Celebrated film maker, Oliver Stone, wrote the introduction for the book, which is listed here in the catalogue of Baraka Books, Montreal:

Dan Kovalik served as in-house counsel at the United Steelworkers of America for 26 years at its headquarters in Pittsburgh. He has been a labor and human rights lawyer since graduating from Columbia Law School in 1993. He has represented plaintiffs in human rights cases arising out of egregious abuses in Colombia. He also taught International Human Rights at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law from 2012 to 2023. Author of many books, including "The Case for Palestine: Why It Matters and Why You Should Care", he received the David W. Mills Mentoring Fellowship from Stanford Law School, the Serena Shim Award for Uncompromised Integrity in Journalism, and Iran's 15th Farabi International Award. Dan Kovalik lives in Pittsburgh.
