AUDITION NOTICE

Western Canada Theatre with The Firehall Arts Centre will be holding
auditions in Vancouver for the upcoming premiere production of Larger Than
Life, The Musical. Book by SG Lee, music by Vanessa LeBourdais, directed by
Janet Michael.

Audition dates are as follows:
April 22, 23, and 24, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at the Firehall Arts Centre.

Please prepare a contemporary monologue under two minutes in length, and a
pop or rock song from the musical theatre repertoire. Sides from the show
will be available at the Firehall Arts Centre from 12:00 pm on Monday the
22nd. For the part of Violet, a legit song (in English) would be
appropriate. Bring sheet music and a resume. An accompanist will be
provided.

There are five female characters, ranging in age from 28-50's.
Violet 28-38
Violet's dream, and talent, is to be an opera singer. Somehow she got
hijacked by the New Age. Classical soprano. F below MC to high B flat.

Charly 35-50's
Middle-aged urban butch lesbian. A big woman with a big heart, she's past
worrying about her identity. Low alto.

Pat 40-50
Mother of a twelve and a fourteen-year-old. Not thin. Keeps the family
running, does committee and charity work. What she wants never seems to get
to the top of the to-do list. Can be Alto or Mezzo.

Marnie 29-36
Warm, a bit quirky. Smarter than most people think. Knows what she wants
(a family) and is rather confused that such a simple dream seems so hard to
fulfill. Can be Alto or Mezzo, sings R&B.

Ange 30-50
Successful business woman. Knows how to make a plan, stick to it, achieve
her goals. Doesn't see why her personal life can't work that way. Rock
soprano. F below MC to high A.

To book an audition, please call Henry at Western Canada Theatre at
