TORONTO FRINGE AUDITION NOTICE
TOP GUN! THE MUSICAL

Cattle Productions is proud to present Top Gun! The Musical at this
year's Toronto Fringe Festival (July 3 - 14, 2002). TG!TM is written by
Denis McGrath, directed by Colin Viebrock and produced by Derrick Chua.

The show is a musical comedy about putting on a musical called "Top Gun!
The Musical". We are looking for actors who are strong singers and have
good comedic skills.

Character Descriptions:

BILLY: M, early-30's. A nebbishy, put-upon artist with the weight of
the world on his shoulders. Woody Allen with a touch of Billy Wilder.
Writer-director of "Top Gun: The Musical."

"CHARLIE": F, late-20's to late-30's. The female lead of "Top Gun: The
Musical." A narcissistic diva, cruel and vain, sexy and just dangerous
enough to be interesting.

"MAVERICK": M, mid-20's to early-30's. A good looking himbo. Macho,
straight out of jeans ad. A million dollar smile and a five cent mind.
We need someone really smart - cause they'll be playing really dumb.

"GOOSE": F, mid to late-20's.  Maverick's co-pilot.  A woman trapped in
a man's role. This musical could be her big break, if she could only
figure out her motivation.

"ICEMAN": M, late-20's to early-30's. When reading his role, Ice is
arrogant, cool, macho. When he's not acting, he's a proud out Queen -
desperately in love with the actor playing Maverick.

THE GENERAL: M, late-40's to early-50's. Ex-military, ramrod straight
and proper. Now bankrolling a musical and acting as producer and
military advisor.

WENDY: F, early-30's. The show's stage manager, a consumate
professional. The Good Egg, with a love for Billy that's pure and true.

Requirements: Performers are asked to prepare a short comedic monologue
(max. 2 minutes) and 2 brief musical numbers, 1 ballad & 1 up-tempo, 1-2
minutes each, to be sung a capella, or performers may provide their own
accompaniment on tape, CD, or B.Y.O. instrument. Equity welcome. This
will be a co-op revenue-sharing production. Please send photo and resume
