Now is the time to consider submitting an application to Equity's
professional development fund. Equity's professional development fund
has over $15,000 left to grant for workshops and classes that:

- encourage collegiality and strengthen the artistic community
- encourage breaking through stereotypes, typecasting, etc.
- encourage improvement of existing skills or creation of new skills
- encourage artistic exploration, experimentation and risk-taking
- increase confidence
- increase profiles in the community
- increase awareness of work opportunities
- increase ability to take advantage of work opportunities

Call Equity communications for a copy of the professional development
policy and budget form or visit the Equity web-site: www.caea.com for a
downloadable version (go to: "policies".)

Applications from Organizations

Organizations should provide:
1.	A brief description of the programs provided by the organization
(the promotional brochure would be ideal.)
2.	A succinct outline of how money received from this fund will
directly impact the professional development of Equity members.
3.	An instructor profile & CV.

Note: A final report will be required upon completion of the workshop.

Applications from organizations will be assessed on:
- The number of Equity members previously and potentially served by the
organization.
- The degree of involvement of local Equity members in creating and
driving programs.
- The level of financial accountability for money received from Equity
in the past.
- The need for the program being proposed.

Applications from Members

Applications from a group of members should be as brief as possible,
ideally:
1.	One page describing the professional development project
including the number of total participants and the number of Equity
members anticipated to be participating.
2.	A second page outlining the budget for the project including any
revenue from other sources and showing what the grant from the fund will
be directly used for.
3.	An instructor profile & CV.

Note: A final report will be required upon completion of the workshop.

Applications from members will be assessed on:
- The number of Equity members in good standing participating (normally,
a grant will be given only to a workshop in which a majority of
participants are Equity members).
- Whether other sources of revenue, including participants' fees have
been investigated.
- The need in the local community for the project.
- The completed budget form.

The Equity professional development committee will review applications
from members in good standing and award grants to members in good
standing from the fund. The maximum grant allowed is $3,000 per project.
Generally, the fund will not grant money to projects or programs that
are directly related to a production.

Applications should be addressed to the professional development
committee:
